This post isn’t to try and convince you to become some believer in magic. I’m not a believer in magic, but I am a believer in The Law of Attraction and visualization.

Whenever I tell someone about The Law of Attraction, they are so quick to shut it down. I’m that friend that my friends call for advice, so when they are struggling I always suggest reading the book, The Secret.

What people don’t understand is that The Law of Attraction and visualization isn’t just some magic solution where you think positive and all of your dreams come true.

LOL wouldn’t that be nice?

Here is the DEFINITION of The Law of Attraction:

“The law of attraction is the attractive, magnetic power of the Universe that draws similar energies together. It manifests through the power of creation, everywhere and in many ways. Even the law of gravity is part of the law of attraction. This law attracts thoughts, ideas, people, situations and circumstances.”

I’m going to give you something to think about.

  1. When you are having a bad day, it feels like one bad thing happens after the next, right?

  2. When you are having a good day, doesn’t it just seem like you’ve totally got a grip on whatever it is you are doing?

That’s how I like to think of The Law of Attraction.

I really think that everyone has their own take on this and how they choose to go about it, and visualization is my way.

5 years ago ( when I was 20 years old ), someone told me to write a journal entry as if I was living the life I desired 5 years in the future.

So, I sat down in my college apartment in Tucson, Arizona and pretended that I was 25 years old, living in Miami Beach with an amazing boyfriend and as the CEO of my very own company.

I got very specific with this journal entry.

It started something like this:

“Today I woke up and I was so grateful to see the beach. I am surrounded with so much love and I’m stoked for my meetings today for my company…”

…something like that. I put the journal entry away and never looked at it again.

Last week was the 5 year point. Now, I’m 25 years old. The journal entry did get lost. BUT - when I reflect on what I had written and I look at my life now, it’s a bit surreal.

  1. I live on the beach in Miami

  2. I have an amazing relationship

  3. I am the CEO of my own company

Like I said, I got super specific and I’m not going to bore you with those details, but what matters is that there is power in The Law of Attraction and visualization.

Every morning, I take at least 5 minutes to close my eyes, sit in a quiet place and visualize exactly what I want.

  • I visualize what I WANT my life to look like.

  • I visualize what it FEELS LIKE to have achieved my ( future ) goals.

  • I visualize being close in distance to my family.

Sometimes I do this during meditation and other times I journal about it.

There are many ways to visualize what you want and lots of opinions surrounding this topic, but I’m just sharing what works for me.

When I start my day with visualization, I am not only visualizing what I want, I am putting out what I want into the universe.

This empowers me to make decisions that allow me to show up as my higher self to get what I want.

Visualization is a form of manifestation and visualization manifested exactly what I want into my life, but it isn’t magic.

When you believe that you ALREADY HAVE something, I BELIEVE that you make decisions ( consciously or subconsciously ) that bring you closer to what you want.

It’s like having a good day. You have a better attitude and things go your way.

Don’t confuse this with positive thinking.

Positive thinking is great, but visualizing what you want as if you already have it, is inspiring. I visualized everything that I have today and believe that that is the power of manifestation.

If you aren’t where you want to be in life, you need to start taking different actions otherwise you will get the same results.

  1. Try visualizing everyday what it would FEEL like to reach your goals.

  2. Try visualizing everyday what it would FEEL like to wake up in your dream home.

  3. Try visualizing everyday what it would FEEL like to have that romantic relationship.

You need to feel and use your senses.

In my experience, excitement begins to build up because you realize that it’s possible.

Aside from starting my mornings with visualization and meditation, I journal about what I am grateful for. When we write down what we are grateful for, we start to see that we have more than we thought, and what we have can get us closer to what we want!

Something else that I HIGHLY suggest you try is to create a vision board.

I recently created one. ( literally so large I had to put TWO poster boards together )

That vision board is the first thing I see when I wake up and go to sleep.

I filled it with everything that I wanted. Whether that was to be featured in Forbes 30 Under 30, to be a New York Times Best Selling Author, the exact house I want, places I’ve always wanted to visit in the world, love, being close to family, seeing other people smile, public speaking events, ANYTHING!

Many people fill it with THINGS, but it’s also important to fill it with more than just “things.”

You have to keep in mind that happiness should NEVER be attached to materialistic things. While you can put those things on your board as I did, I also included love, family and other things that bring me internal happiness.

You can put whatever it is that you want on that board. Just keep that in mind.

Looking at it everyday is BEYOND motivating. It takes visualization a step further. Not only am I visualizing what I want in my mind, but I can see it on paper.

Don’t be afraid to try something new. This isn’t magic. It’s simply shifting the way that you think, removing limiting beliefs and attracting what you want through your mindset.

You won’t see results overnight. You might not see results in a week. But, I encourage you to stick with this practice because it is powerful.

Ask and you shall receive!
