TIPS TO GET INSPIRED
YOU NEVER KNOW WHERE YOU’LL FIND INSPIRATION
THIS IS WHY
I was in Spain on a family trip last March and wasn’t feeling like myself. My entire personal brand requires creativity and some days I feel less inspired than others.
Well, this “day” lasted for the entire week we were away. The whole trip I was stressing out about out of the box ways to help people facing anxiety and stress. I didn’t want to just write blogs and record podcasts on my experience. I needed something fresh, different and unique.
So, here we are the last day in Spain, specifically Madrid and I had that “aha” moment. I was in my hotel room, laying in bed, with a face mask, a big white comfy robe, feeling kind of down and I had let my mind drift off for a brief second. That’s when it happened. My “aha” moment.
I had this idea to review different wellness treatments and see if they actually worked. This way I can share with people my experience, what I feel is important to invest in and what is the most efficient. It would be a valuable resource that can help people indulge in self care, but MORE IMPORTANTLY, know WHERE to indulge and what’s worth the investment, right?
My inspiration came from that moment where I decided to just throw on a face mask, a big white comfy robe and chill out. It came when I slowed down and stopped stressing about inspiration. It came from simply indulging in self care myself!
I was so busy stressing the entire trip about an out of the box idea, that I was focused on that stress more than letting ideas flow!
THE LESSON OF INSPIRATION
What I learned was that inspiration comes from the simplest things, especially when you allow yourself to just let go. Letting go can be as simple as a minute of relaxation, a walk outside, a warm shower or exploration. When we shift our focus, we can open our eyes to new opportunities because we remove that pressure to find the inspiration!
So, if you find yourself feeling uninspired and in a bit of a “funk,” try to STOP thinking about whatever it is you are trying to achieve. Focus on getting out of your own head and get out of your own environment.
Like I said, that inspirational moment came when I finally “gave up” worrying. I did something that I enjoyed ( or at least tried ) and then it hit me.
Since then, I’ve noticed that when I lack creativity, getting out of my typical routine TOTALLY boosts that inspiration. If you read my blogs or listen to my podcasts, then you know I’m all about that human guinea pig life, meaning… I try everything and anything.
I’ve used this little trick ever since.
TIPS TO GET INSPIRED
Change up your environment
Put a time limit on feeling bad
Let your mind wander and do something you enjoy to take your mind off of the stress
Get MOVING! Exercise clears the mind
Read a book or find an inspirational video on YouTube
Indulge in your own self care
It’s the little things that allow you to acknowledge your feeling, and then do something about it. At the end of the day, I’ve noticed that getting out of my own head allows inspiration to flow.
…and as you know, I share what works best for me :)
