Guys, we’ve all made mistakes in life. We’ve all done shit that we wish we didn’t do. We all say things that we wish we didn’t say, right?

You ever have that moment where you randomly think of something stupid you did and then all of a sudden you feel super uncomfortable?

Yeah, me too.

I’ll be driving, listening to a good song and then BOOM. An awkward memory LOL

We all have it. It’s part of life.

…but the one thing that I don’t do is regret anything. I might feel awkward about a situation, think “why would I ever say that?” You know what I mean.

BUT - I don’t regret it.

I might skip a day of work when I have a lot to do, but I don’t regret it. Because I was probably doing something that I needed to do.

Your life right now is a result of the decisions you’ve made thus far. Whether you like it or not, this right now is your life.

You have choices. You need to act on them.

  • One day, you won’t be saying “one day.”

  • One day, you’ll be on your death bed.

Sorry to sound harsh, but it’s true!

  1. I choose to never regret.

  2. I choose to take action.

  3. When I have an idea, I try it.

  4. When I want to go do something, I do it.

  5. When I get scared of what I want to do, I do it anyway.

Because what I don’t want, is to regret NOT doing it, ok?

Life can change for us at any moment.

We’ve all said it before - “you can get hit by a bus tomorrow.” Right?

Well, if I do, I want to know in my heart that I did everything that I wanted. That I at least tried everything whether it failed or succeeded.

I don’t want to regret decisions that I’ve made. I don’t want to regret not doing it.

To me, that is the worst feeling anyone can experience.

Knowing that you had the potential, the opportunity, but you made the conscious CHOICE not to.

That thought alone pushes me every single day to be better.

I don’t regret anything in the past because I made those decisions in the moment ( whether they ended up awkward, failing or what not ) because that is what I wanted IN THAT MOMENT.

For that, I don’t regret it.

I might not like how it turns out, but I won’t regret it.

Does this make sense?

We only have so much time on this earth. I believe in making the most of it. I do things. You should too. Because it’s not worth it not to.

What do you really have to lose?

As depressing as this sounds, thinking about death is the best way to take action. Knowing that you only have a limited amount of time will push you to do what you want rather than focusing on what you don’t, ok?

So, stop regretting shit. You make decisions in life based on what you want in that moment. That is normal. Live with it. Move on. Grow from it. Every day is a new opportunity to learn.

I will take advantage of that.

There isn’t a “how to guide” on “how not to regret things in life.” You just don’t do it and take advantage of what you have right in front of you.

  • If you have an idea, act on it.

  • If you want to call someone, call them.

  • If you want to take a day off, do it.

  • If you want to book that trip, book it.

  • If you love someone, tell them.

I know you’ve seen quotes like that all over.

BUT - if you make a decision, never regret it. Move forward. Consistently take action. Fail. Succeed. Laugh. Screw up. Screw up some more. That is how you win at life.

And never forget to have patience.

Patience is what will get you further. I suck at having patience, but I know that it is necessary when it comes to coping with regret. Trust yourself. Follow your gut.

When you begin regretting, you stop doing.

When you stop doing, you will lay on your death bed realizing that you should have tried because that is where you will end up regardless.

Harsh, but truth and something we all need to hear!
